Long hailed as a classic, I got this a few years ago to see what the fuss was about (and to continue to bring some balance to my male dominated record collection). Whilst it has never been a record I've listened to a lot, the debt owed by so much music in the almost 50 years since its release is glaringly obvious. With respects to the title, she is very much all three and was making a statement when Civil Rights bills were still being forced into law. My favourite track here is the cover of 'Didn't I Blow Your Mind This Time' by the Delphonics.
I need to give this album more time.
